2/4/2020 (Permalink)
Stachybotrys chartarum, also known as black mold, is a variety of microfungus. Although it can sometimes be found in soil or grain, it is most often found in building materials from damp or water damaged buildings.
The CDC states, “Stachybotrys chartarum can grow on material with a high cellulose content, such as fiberboard, gypsum board, and paper. Growth occurs when there is moisture from water damage, water leaks, condensation, water infiltration, or flooding. Constant moisture is required for its growth.”
Stachybotrys chartarum and other molds may effect the health of people and animals in your home or business.
Remember, it is not necessary to determine what type of mold you may have growing in your home or business. All molds should be treated the same with respect to potential health risks and removal.
